5G technology is a natural progression from 4G, 3G, 2G, and so on. Regardless of how interesting, fast, cheap, and stable the internet is nowadays, we all know that there’s always room for improvement when it comes to technology. That’s where 5G comes into action, as it plans to get rid of those annoying moments when an internet connection is running low, and it interrupts many times during a live stream or in other occasions.
5G technology will improve the internet in all ways, but some people are still skeptical about it. Furthermore, there had been numerous conspiracy theories surfacing online and claiming that 5G is bad for our health.
No need to worry
Researchers claim that there’s absolutely no danger for human health when it comes to 5G. A research from the Committee on Man and Radiation (COMAR) from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) discovered that the signals made by 5G are not even powerful enough to pierce the human skin. This obviously means that it can cause health issues.
Jerrold T Bushberg from the University of California Davis School of Medicine declared:
“This misinformation together with activist websites expressing even more ominous consequences of 5G – ranging from cancer induction to being responsible for the current coronavirus pandemic – has created substantial and unnecessary public anxiety.”
There you have it! 5G doesn’t cause the COVID-19 disease. Humans do, by not respecting social distancing, not wearing masks, not washing their hands enough, and so on.
Many conspiracy theorists were concerned that the increased radiofrequency could pose any threat to our health. 5G also uses higher radio frequencies (RF) known as millimeter-wave (MMW).
5G has download speeds that can reach 10 gigabytes per second. This is a huge upgrade, considering that 4G had a maximum of only 300 megabytes per second.
