According to one scientist, black holes could easily tear apart a human body if getting too close to it. Because of the powerful gravitational pull, black holes have, not even light can penetrate it; therefore, if a person were heading towards a black hole, they would literally be ripped apart.
This happens because of a process known as ‘spaghettification,’ which means that the gravitational pull of a black hole is so powerful that the force is much stronger at the base than the top. The expert explained that if a person were to travel into a black hole, the gravity would be so strong that they would be ‘spaghettified.’ The human body would then be stretched out until it would be a deluge of atoms traveling towards the center.
However, Kevin Pimbbet, a senior lecturer in physics at the University of Hull, said that we would have to be extremely unfortunate to ever ‘hit’ a black hole in the first place. Another quite impossible task would be reaching to a black hole, as the closest black hole to Earth is about 6,523 light-years away.
The farthest humans have claimed to be from Earth is 248,655 miles (400,171 kilometers), back in 1970 when NASA’s Apollo 13 program in which the spacecraft reached the far side of the Moon. It took approximately three days to get to the destination.
Black Holes Formation
There are a couple of ways in which a black hole can take shape. Experts think the most common method is when a star, about thousands of times the size of the Sun, shatters on itself when it dies. This process is called a supernova.
Another common way is when a massive quantity of matter, which can be gas clouds or a star collapses in on itself through its own gravitational pull. Moreover, the clash of two neutron stars can also form a black hole.
The point of these three ways is that a huge amount of mass found in one place can cause the birth of a black hole.
