New Dark Matter Research Might Contradict The Previously Believed Theories

More and more researchers are aiming to bring humanity one step closer to understand the mystery of dark matter. A recently published study has already caught the interest of astrophysicists, even though there are many more unconvinced by the discoveries presented in the research.

A recent study was conducted by a team of researchers from the University of California. The papers contradict any common belief that was accepted until now.

The researchers were not successful in finding any dark matter and not even the invisible area where all the galaxies are stuck together. Their primary purpose is to demonstrate that there is no such phenomenon in the Milky Way. Their discoveries were posted in the journal Science.

Because of the fact that the paper proposes an innovative perspective on this matter, the researchers’ team is suggesting that all the common beliefs stated until now are incorrect.

The new research on dark matter

The study indicates that astrophysicists were misled while conducting previous research and that they were not aware of how to find the dark matter in the first place.

A hypothesis well-known among astronomers is stating that the dark matter is composed of a theoretical set of subatomic particles that are called sterile neutrinos. Their particularity is represented by the ability to eliminate x-rays while being exposed to a certain level of wavelengths.

Therefore, the first approach to determine the amount of dark matter was by scanning the amount of the eliminated x-rays in the interior of a galaxy.

The new research on dark matter is contradicting this belief by analyzing the x-ray frequency in the Milky Way and their investigation leads to nothing. However, the theory is contradicted by other analyses, which claim that the method used to reach these conclusions was too limited. Studying the background noise caused by the x-ray signals is not sufficient to provide complete research.
